Neutral Significant: The Cliff
Won: Day 63
Game: wizard statue factory
Summary
[Tan] is at the edge of a forest looking down a cliff that falls a ways down into a river, fighting a bunch of nightmare-ish shadowy creatures. Many of them don't have definite shapes, but some have claws, red demonic eyes, bladed arms, huge jaws, stuff like that. Notably, Tan is wielding a wooden sword in the battle, which he seems to be pretty skilled with.
Also he's occasionally shooting fire balls at the creatures. This is apparently normal.
He's not alone in the fight, though. Laura's there, her legs weak but still defending herself with a steel blade. A younger girl is helping to defend her, summoning animal-like golems to join the fight and even creating a set of long claws out of earth so she can join in too. A girl and boy, alike enough to be twins, are there, the boy shooting bursts of wind, the girl shooting jets of water. And there's one more boy, Norbert, who seems to be attacking and defending with sonic waves.
Despite their efforts, though, the group is losing, and everyone is getting pretty heavily wounded. ...Everyone, that is, except for [Tan], who eventually realizes (when he almost gets swiped but the creature actively hesitates at the last moment) that they're not attacking him for some reason.
In a plan that he doesn't really think through very well, he shouts to Norbert to get everyone else away, he'll stall them. Norbert calls back "Are you crazy???" but [Tan] is sure he'll be fine and just insists that everyone else go.
And so Norbert gets everybody to retreat back into the forest and regroup. Laura looks back with a pleading expression, but she turns to flee as well. The creatures try to run after them, but [Tan] uses all of the strength of his fire to block their path.
The creatures have one more trick up their sleeves, though - while they're not going to harm [Tan] directly for whatever reason, they seem to have no qualm with destroying the ground around him and themselves, breaking off the piece of the edge of the cliff they're standing on. The creatures dissipate into shadows, leaving [Tan] alone, falling down the cliff.
Thankfully, he loses consciousness before he hits the ground.
